Instructor Requirements (I1)

The Instructor function is an administrative rating, to members holding a CTR or CTR+ rating. These ratings are granted to members who has demonstrated superior knowledge of the ATC procedures and teching skills, and who is also actively involved in the daily ATC Training matters in their home vACC. The Instructor ratings are non-permanent and can only be used on ATC positions inside VATSIM Europe Division. Controllers who is a visiting controller outside the VATSIM Europe Division, must use their permanent rating (CTR/CTR+).

Requirements

  • Above average knowlegde of VATSIM, VATEUR and VATEUD rules and regulations
  • Excellent knowledge of ATC matters
  • Good pedagogical skills
  • Good command of English, both written and spoken
  • Pass the VATEUD ATSimTest Theory Examination for Instructors (or have completed a former INS-Course)
  • In good standing with VATSIM
  • Hold a CTR or CTR+ permanent rating
  • Involved in ATC-Training for at least one year
  • Recommended by the local vACC ATC-Training Director
  • Approved by VATEUD ATC Department (VATEUD4 and/or VATEUD14)

Note: The VATEUD ATC Department may limit the number of I1-rated instructors in a specific vACC, if deemed necessary.

How to apply for the I1 Rating

The vACC ATC Training Director should write an e-mail to atc@vateud.net. The e-mail must contain the following information about the applicant:

  • VATSIM CID, permanent rating and full name
  • How long he/she has been involved with the vACC Training, and with which tasks
  • List of ATC online hours for the last 12 months (Hours must be listed per month)
  • If the applicant has passed a former INS-Course (Include date of the INS-Course and name of the examiner)
  • Personal recommendation letter from the vACC ATC Training Director

Note: In case the vACC ATC Training Director is the applicant, the e-mail and recommendation must be written by the vACC Director.

Senior Instructor Requirements (I3)

The Senior Instructor rating is granted to controllers who has shown superior knowlegde of the ATC procedures and teaching skills, and who is also involved in Divisional ATC Training.
The rating is granted by the VATEUD ATC Department.

Requirements

  • Above average knowledge of VATSIM, VATEUR and VATEUD rules and regulations.
  • Excellent knowledge of ATC matters
  • Good pedagogical skills
  • Good command of English, both written and spoken
  • Passes the VATEUD ATSimTest Theory Examination for Instructors (or have completed a former INS-Course)
  • In good standing with VATSIM
  • Hold a CTR or CTR+ permanent rating
  • Involved in Divisional ATC Training
  • Approved by VATEUD4 and/or VATEUD14
